VOLUNTEER STORYTELLER

ROLE DESCRIPTION 

Role: Fight for Peace Volunteer Storyteller

Duration: 6 months plus

Time commitment: Up to 1 hour – ad hoc

Salary: Expenses only

HOW WILL YOU HELP US?

This volunteering role will help to shape people’s understanding of Fight for Peace and its impact. They will meet stakeholders (e.g. partners, media, job applicants, funders, local council members) and bring to life the impact of the organisation through sharing stories of their own (or their peers’) experiences.

Opportunities include Academy visits, events, media interviews and meetings. Storytellers will be supported by our Partnerships Managers to design an Academy tour and craft a narrative. Being a volunteer role, there is a strong emphasis on personal and professional growth. The storytellers will develop their knowledge, skills and experience through the guidance of the Partnerships Managers and wider staff.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING

  • Meeting stakeholders, making them feel welcome and understanding/ responding to their needs
  • Bringing to life the impact and need of Fight for Peace through storytelling and presentations at the Academy and outside of the Academy as needed.
