PRO BOXING DEBUT FOR DYLAN

Dylan Adebisi stepped into the professional boxing world last Friday, making his debut at the world famous York Hall in east London.

Spurred on by a sizable Fight for Peace contingent in the crowd, the young fighter scored an impressive second round stoppage to set this new chapter of his career in motion.

“It was a dream come true making my professional debut,” said Dylan, reflecting on the event. “I envisioned it a million times in my head. I was picturing every little detail, seeing my friends and family in the crowd, making the ring walk with my brother, and it went exactly as I envisioned it. It was probably the best night of my life so far.”

Dylan turned pro earlier this year following a glittering amateur career in which he amassed three London regional titles and one national title. He is now looking to build on his stellar start and be as active as possible, with another bout before the end of the year and a total of six fights in the next 12 months.

The aim for Dylan of course is an undisputed world title, but the astute young fighter says he is taking one fight at a time with continued victories and British and Commonwealth titles all stepping stones to this ultimate goal.

Fight for Peace is where boxing began for Dylan almost ten years ago when he began training across the combat sports disciplines offered at our Academy. While he trains full time elsewhere now, Dylan retains a strong connection with his first club, and continues to coach younger boxers as part of the Fight for Peace coaching team.

“Fight for Peace was the birth of it all for me,” explains Dylan. “That’s where my boxing roots come from, that’s where everything started. It’s where I met loads of people that are still in my corner today, and Fight for Peace is probably one of the places that I get the biggest support from. Fight for Peace has had a huge, huge impact in my boxing career.”

Dylan’s success is a massive inspiration to the whole team at Fight for Peace, particularly the younger athletes looking to emulate his achievements. His dedication and approach to his craft is a tremendous lesson to everyone wishing to succeed in whichever path they choose, whether sporting or non-sporting.

“We are so proud of everything Dylan is achieving,” said Fight for Peace CEO Lee Hemmings, who was in the crowd at York Hall for Dylan’s win. “He is an exceptional young man in and out of the ring and he is the embodiment of what we believe deeply in at Fight for Peace – that dedication, hard work, courage and a strong support network can take you to the top. We’re honoured to be part of Dylan’s journey and are very excited about what comes next for him.”
