THE RETURN OF FIGHT FOR PEACE’S WOMEN-LED PODCAST, LUTAPOD

Off the back of a powerful first season, LutaPod is back, and the production of Season Two is in full swing. Fight for Peace’s women-led podcast continues to provide a space for honest, unfiltered conversations about what it means to be a woman in sport. Leading the way are our new hosts, Szilvia and Aniqa – bringing inspiring insight, lived experience, and their unique personalities to the mic.

Launched in 2024 and produced in partnership with Fight for Peace’s Young Creative, Aladdin, the Sport England-backed podcast amplifies the voices of women and girls, offering space to reflect on how they engage with sport and how they are seen within it. Our aim is to influence the wider perception of women in sport and to help break down barriers that prevent young women from getting, and staying active.

It’s no secret that the playing field isn’t level. According to Sport England’s latest Active Lives Children & Young People Survey (2023–24), just 45% of girls aged 5–16 meet the recommended 60 minutes of daily physical activity, compared to 51% of boys. While there has been some progress over recent years, this persistent gender gap shows we still have a long way to go, and reinforces why representation and visibility matter.

When girls hear voices like their own at the centre of the conversation, it can change how they see themselves, and what they believe is possible.

Season One of LutaPod featured voices from across our community, including Head muay thai Coach Star, Youth Worker and Pilates Coach Angel, and Fight for Peace athletes Catisa and Maëlle. Together, they explored topics that are often overlooked, from navigating the menstrual cycle and dealing with the male gaze in sporting spaces, to breaking down stereotypes and challenging the patriarchal dynamics still present in many gyms and coaching environments. These honest conversations laid the foundation for what the podcast is all about – raising visibility, and shifting mindsets.

As we progress into Season Two, we’re building on that momentum. We’ll continue to welcome guests with meaningful connections to sport, whether as athletes, coaches, or advocates, and we’ll be deepening our focus on not just highlighting the issues, but offering women-led solutions.

A key figure in this project has been Young Creative, Aladdin. From the beginning, his leadership behind the scenes has been essential, not only as a skilled producer, but as a thoughtful male ally who understands the importance of stepping back to make space. Aladdin shared:

“This project is centred around women’s voices, and as a man I make sure to focus on bringing women into the room and providing a space for free speech and exploration. I play my role where I’m needed and keep quiet where I’m not.”

His perspective reminds us that allyship in sport means more than just showing up, it means listening, learning, and supporting real change.

“I hope the podcast gives insight to those who might not fully understand what it’s like to be a woman in the sports world, and helps make these spaces more comfortable for everyone.”

At Fight for Peace, we have a responsibility to create environments where young women and girls not only participate in sport, but lead within it with confidence, safety and agency. Through women-only boxing, strength and conditioning, and Pilates sessions, alongside opportunities to gain coaching qualifications and lead on creative projects like LutaPod, we’re not just creating access, we’re creating long-term impact.

As anticipation builds for Season Two, we’re reminded of what’s possible when young women are trusted to lead. Their voices don’t just reflect the current state of sport, they help shape its future.

With Szilvia and Aniqa stepping into the spotlight as our new hosts, they’re not just steering the conversation, they’re actively reshaping the narrative around what it means to be a woman in sport today. Their leadership and curiosity reflect the core of what LutaPod is all about – handing the mic to young women, and letting their voices lead the way.

The Fight for Peace Young Creatives are a group of 10 talented young people producing high-quality content for Fight for Peace’s communication channels, and like-minded organisations and partners.
