A group of young creatives at Fight for Peace is deep in the production phase of an exciting new community project aimed at telling the story of our organisation, and in particular the power sport has to change lives.
Under the leadership of local filmmaker Aladdin Benberna, three creatives from Fight for Peace (Amet, Zaynab and Promise) have spent a number of weeks conceiving, planning and shooting the short film.
Actor, and Fight for Peace member, Mohammedally Shustari plays the lead role in the fictional piece, which is due for release later this year, and details of which are closely guarded for now!
Filming has been taking place at the Fight for Peace Academy as well as in locations around the community in North Woolwich.
“This is a really exciting project, and although we can’t share too much information on it yet, I am looking forward to the final edit being completed and shared with the world!” said Fight for Peace Creative Lead Kayla Troy, who is supporting the project.
“I have been very impressed by how this team has worked together, and particularly with the creativity of the concept that they came up with. Like all big projects there have been plenty of challenges and obstacles, but the group has been excellent in showing resilience and finding solutions, led very well by Aladdin.”
As the project wraps up shooting in the next week, and attention turns to editing, keep your eyes peeled on Fight for Peace’s social media for more updates on the progress and release of this hotly anticipated short film!
