Gets young people back into education and onto bigger and better things.

Pathways helps young people who have disengaged from formal learning or are unemployed find their way back to education and on to further education, employment or training. The project offers formal education courses combined with personal development sessions, one-to-one mentoring, employability training, careers advice and guidance, and progression support tailored to individual participant needs.

Rio de Janeiro

In Rio de Janeiro, Pathways offers fast-track primary and secondary education to young people between the ages of 16-29 who have been out of education for two years. Throughout the programme, young people receive individual mentoring from the Support Services team to offer a broader learning experience and a stable base of support.

In London, Pathways consists of two modules designed to attract 16-25 year olds who have disengaged from formal education. Module 1 offers GCSE equivalent qualification courses in English, Maths and Sport related subjects. Module 2 offers participants access to the YMCA Gym Instructor Level 2 qualification course, the most widely recognised entry-level qualification within the fitness industry.
