Several times a year the Fight for Peace Academy opens its doors to friends and supporters via a special immersive event called Fight for Peace Live.
The latest edition of Fight for Peace Live was held at the end of May and included a tour of the Fight for Peace Academy, an introductory boxing session and a personal development workshop. These immersive events happen in the evening when the Fight for Peace Academy is at its liveliest, and by taking part, participants are able to see our programmes in action as well as experience for themselves the benefits of sports and personal development.
Participants also get the chance to meet and hear from young people and former Fight for Peace members and understand the difference being part of Fight for Peace is making in their lives.
Matilda Early, Partnerships Executive at Comic Relief, was one of the guests at the May event: “It was such an incredible event and so brilliant to see the work up close,” she said.
“My personal highlight was just being around the young people, getting to see how they use the space and to hear what being a part of Fight for Peace means to them.”
“We love putting on these immersive events for our partners, there is no better way to see what we do at Fight for Peace than to experience it for yourself,” explained Harry Parkyn, Partnerships Manager at Fight for Peace and coordinator of the immersive events.
“It was inspiring to see guests step out of their comfort zone and take part in a youth-led boxing session, speak freely in our personal development workshop, and get to know our young people and staff – I know that our young people got a real buzz from taking a leading role in delivering the event!”
The next Fight for Peace Live event is scheduled for September, for more information and to participate please contact Harry Parkyn at harry@fightforpeace.net.
