Sportstec are a sport for development consultancy based in Joburg but with projects across South Africa. They work with South African government and other agencies to deliver school sports programmes and have been involved in creating centres of excellences for teacher training and demonstration purposes, highlighting how sports can be used as a tool for young people’s development.

They will work with FFP to develop a boxing and martial arts based pilot programme that can be delivered at their Soweto project in partnership with a local boxing club. This pilot will form the basis of a nationwide rollout of B&MA programming delivered through Sportstec’s centres of excellence, which will be integrated within their existing life skills programme and tied up with the government’s education targets around enrichment and safety.

Sportstec are also FFP’s strategic partner and will be working closely alongside the FFPI team to look at wider roll-out options for B&MA programming across South Africa, looking specifically at school safety initiatives and violence reduction programmes.
