The Fight for Peace UK Alumni Programme (UK AP) was established in 2014 to offer community-based organisations (CBOs) around the UK access to Fight for Peace’s principles and methodology, which CBOs adapt to be relevant in their own communities. The programme supports CBOs in strengthening or introducing activities based on Fight for Peace’s Five Pillars: Boxing & Martial Arts, Education, Employability, Support Services and Youth Leadership. A full UK AP information pack can be downloaded here.
Applications to the UK Alumni Programme are currently closed. Information on future programme dates will be published here in due course.
UK AP helps organisations use boxing and martial arts as a tool to reduce youth violence, strengthen their capacity, design holistic programming and adapt programme delivery methods to local contexts.
UK AP offers intensive training in Fight for Peace’s methodology, twelve months consultancy support, access to Fight for Peace’s toolkit of resources and membership of the Fight for Peace Alliance.
To date, Fight for Peace has trained over 30 organisations through the UK Alumni Programme with 98% adding or strengthening the services they offer to young people based on Fight for Peace’s methodology.
Who is UK AP for?
The UK Alumni Programme is aimed at CBOs that operate in low income communities with substantial barriers to socio-economic inclusion and high levels of violence involving or affecting young people. CBOs must have operated for a minimum of two years, be sustainable and be committed to developing services that combine boxing and martial arts with personal development to support young people. CBOs can include NGOs, schools, youth-offender programmes, sports clubs and other types of organisations and do not need to already offer boxing and martial arts.
