Tamworth Boxing Club was established in 1969 and is one of the leading Boxing facilities in the UK. The Club is managed by Alan Keast GB/England Coach and a team of England Qualified Coaches. Due to increasing membership, sessions and the diversification of activities we moved to a new purpose built gym and community facility in 2012. Tamworth Boxing’s first class facilities are regularly used by England Boxing for their training camps.
Tamworth Boxing Club is now much more than just a boxing club. Tamworth Boxing Club is a charity that has an established track record of working with the most vulnerable members of the community and has successfully delivered a high number of projects aimed at all sectors of a local community that has experienced significant economic decline over recent years. Our work is much wider than just boxing and we provide programmes and support to children with social, emotional and behavioural issues, children at risk of being excluded from school and those excluded from school. We also work with people with disabilities; provide women and girl’s only fitness sessions and healthy eating and cooking support to help develop life skills.
Tamworth Boxing Club shares an ethos and guiding principle with Fight for Peace in the positive effects on personal and community development that both boxing and a boxing club can have within the community. Over the last four years this shared belief, knowledge and experience has helped shape how we as a club have diversified and we have learnt from Fight for Peace and their staff. We very much look forward to this mutually beneficial relationship continuing in the future.
